The Human Factor in Public Speaking

Whatever the topic of your speech, whether it’s global warming, the economy, business development, sailing, etc. your audience will be more interested if you talk about people involved in the subject.  Speeches that are too general or abstract tend to lose the audience’s attention.  Always find a way to include information or stories about the people involved to maintain that “human” connection, no matter how intellectual the topic.
