Public Speaking Tip: The Room In Which You’ll Speak..
by Lily Iatridis on February 5, 2010
Before any presentation, it is to your great advantage to preview the space in which you will be delivering your workshop, presentation, or seminar. The less that is unknown to you when you walk into a room to present, the more confident and comfortable you will feel and the more accurately you will be able to visualize yourself giving a brilliant presentation. Here are some items to consider when you do preview your presentation room: type of seating and desired arrangement, lighting, acoustics, location of electrical outlets for your equipment, testing the functionality of the equipment within the given room, and the arrangement of your presentation area. Don’t wait until it’s too late to grab that extra extension cord or rearrange the room for better flow.
