Wow! That was a good one. I just signed up for two free computer generated self- assessment freebies on Tony Robbins' site. Surprisingly enough, they results sounded very intelligent and insightful. They also gave me a couple of insight on how I could improve my public speaking. I must admit at this point that I've only been a very peripheral follower of Tony Robbins, so I've had almost no familiarity with the quality of his offerings. Not bad!
Have you tried this? It was a two part test, one part being a values analysis, and another being a behavioral analysis. Interestingly, the behavioral analysis compared how you behave and work when you're most being yourself with how you behave when you feel you're "being watched," or feeling self-conscious.
I was completely reminded of why I like working for myself so much! And, I also saw some insights as to where I can improve my public speaking. It's really pretty interesting.
Here are the insights I gleaned from my own personal tests:
I could show a lot more emotion when speaking to a group. Perhaps I'm a bit more emotionally reserved than necessary.
I prefer to be in control of all training activities. I could relax on longer trainings and let someone else take the lead for a while to give myself a break.
When in front of a group, I'm a lot more gregarious. I could stand to be less shy in one-on-one networking situations.
Here's what result reinforced that I am indeed in the right line of work:
I prefer to be in charge and be the decisionmaker. (So that's why my husband and I typically argue when we're on vacation!)
I like tackling new and complicated challenges, like becoming a business owner with no previous experience in marketing or sales.
Admittedly, I like taking self-assessments, especially when I'm feeling a litte frustrated and having moments of doubt. They're like comfort food. If you like them too, please check these out. In any case, Tony, I'm a bigger fan now. I may have to go to one of those Peak Potential events one of these days.
